A-16 was taken out of service 22nd May 2017 she served well but is now marching to another drum. A-16 is a 1993 Ford F-350 with a 7.3L non-turbo-charged motor. This machine will put out 210 horse power at 3000 RPMs.

Cohocton Valley Ambulance Service started out as Cohocton EMS between 1968 and 1969. Our first ambulance as Cohocton EMS was an old hearse which many think was an interesting choice. After we soon got another ambulance which led up into the early 2000s.Hatch Hose Company located in Atlanta New york was an ambulance company based out of the Hatch Hose fire company. The first ambulance they had was a 1993 Ford F-350 with a 7.3L engine. Our late Chief Kyle Ward was the ambulance captain here for sometime before the two companies would merge to form CVAS. He would often refer to A-16 as his baby a he ran his first calls within her. Cohocton EMS then got A-23 a 7.3L 1999 Ford F-450 which is known as modular ambulance type 3. This ambulance would go on many calls until the present day and is still in service. Our newest ambulance is A-7, this is a 6.6L 2013 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. The need for emergency medical personnel is forever growing as the world advances. As a result of many dropped calls in the past this pushed Cohocton Ems to become CVAS and evolve into what we are today. Which is a fully functional mix of dedicated paid and volunteer staff ready to take whatever life throws our way next. We are ready and willing to be your light at the end of the tunnel on your worst day.  If you would like to make a difference with us fell free to stop in and ask questions or contact us via the contact page.
